If you have a video camera, even a very simple one, and some things, then you can make something like the video below. This is why I love YouTube! When I was at Prep School I used an 8mm cine camera to produce similar animations with coloured pens. It took ages and had to be edited by slicing the developed film and gumming it back together. You can just use the video editing software that is bundled in with any PC or Mac. Give it a go and I will post it here for the world (that’s about 50 people per day!) to see.
The technique is called stop-motion. You shoot a few frames of the picture, pause the camera, adjust the objects you are filming, then shoot a few more frames. It is just like the flick book animations I am sure you have all made in your planners or on the corners of your Latin grammar books. Give it a go and let me know how you get on. [Edit: I posted this a little while ago.]
